Hi,
Can anybody recommend any good image-hosting sites?
I sometimes post war pictures into military forums, but my regular host recently blocked a photo of a shot-down German bomber because it had a swastika on the tail, so I'm thinking of switching to a less politically-correct host, any suggestions?

Although, you've got to watch out for filters then...

What do you currently use?

I use a big-name image host but I daren't name them publicly in case they block more of my stuff out of spite, but i've made them aware of my displeasure.
Maybe it's just an over-zealous moderator, but if they keep it up they're going to get a bad name and people will switch hosts.
I mean, the last thing clients want is the hassle of risking having their pics blocked because the hosts deem it un-pol correct.
Oh, and when they block a pic, they don't inform the client; the only way I found my German bomber was blocked was when I accidentally noticed it'd gone later, now I'm wondering which others they've blocked behind my back; I post a lot of stuff in military forums and there were a lot of swastikas in the German sections that I have to check, groan..
Amazing Andrew
http://bayimg.com/ No censors (except for porn), no political correctness, no copyright restrictions, etc. Run by the same folks that run the Pirate Bay.

Thanks, but what do Bayimg get out of it if its free?
Amazing Andrew
I have no idea how they pay for it, as there are no ads that I can see (even after disabling Adblock Plus). I venture that they do it to further their self-proclaimed crusade for freedom of speech online.

Problem is, if we post literally hundreds of images in net discussion forums, then later the image host goes bust or whatever, all our images disappear from every net forum where we've posted them, leaving just a forest of little red 'X's, so it's essential we use only trusted well-organised hosts.
Hopefully one day every discussion forum will have facilities for images to be inserted directly, thereby cutting out the need to go through a middleman host.

That is political correctness going too far ... historical photos are just that. A different matter would be someone using symbols to promote any type of extremist view which is clearly not your intention. Good luck with your hunt.
In passing, I'm a fan of Stalingrad and Berlin - both by Antony Beevor. Also found Abolute War by Chris Bellamy really interesting.

I've decided to name the host who blocked my pic of the shot-down German bomberwith a swastika on the tail: it was Photobucket.
However I told them off and they've now unblocked the pic..smile.gif
They didn't say why they blocked it in the first place, I suspect it was an over-zealous moderator but at least they subsequently overuled him/her so full credit to them.
Lucky for me I accidentally noticed the blocking, otherwise there'd be a red X still floating around in a forum without me knowing.
Not good..
