Do both of these computers have NIC cards?

Just to elaborate on the above posts, NIC card refers to a network interface card wich is used to connect to wireless networks.

Wireless networks, or routers, or cable or dsl modems, or to make a connection between two computers.

Many many years ago this was done with a "null modem" cable.
It's much easier now to just move a hd from 1 pc to the other or burn the files to a cd-r or dv-r.
A removeable hard drive case Makes it even easier.
