Are you talking about MS BOB?
Vintage and obscure to be sure if it is!
Runs on top of Windows 3.1!!

Please dont post that you have a program available.
It is against the rules.

Thats because Im OLD! LOL!!

We used to sell it way back when I was working for a major computer vendor
Its buggy if I recall.
Also ranks #7 on PCWorlds list of the 25 worst tech products of all time
Doubt that it works with 95 or 98 as it changes the Windows interface.
Does work with Windows 3.1 or 3.11

Quote from above link: in early 1995 Microsoft released a software program called "Bob" designed to replace the desktop of Windows 3.1 and 95 with an interface designed mainly for novice users.

Microsoft held a big advertising campaign and loaded up stores with copies of Bob expecting huge sales. It totally flopped.

A few possible reasons that Bob flopped:

* Bob required a minimum of a 486 with 8 megs of ram, 30 megs of free disk space, and 256 color VGA. Many computers of the day did not meet these minimum requirements.
* It was too "cute" for the average PC users of the day.
* Most people at the time who wanted ease of use would just get a Macintosh.
* Bob was not useful enough to justify its initial sale price of almost $100.
* Windows 95, which was released later that year, had the new Windows Explorer user interface which wiped the floor with Bob.

If you do a search for MS Bob you will see some links to YouTube video of MS Bob.

I dont remember how MS Bob shipped media wise.
I think it was 6 floppy disks. 3 1/2 media to be certain!

It was before cd's. Im old in computing terms.
This was before everyone had sound cards and cdrom drives.

Curisoity question: Other than it being vintage software, why would you want to run it?

I still do have a vintage system that I keep.
Running DOS 5.01, WordStar, Word Perfect 5.1 and Lotus 123

I like the old stuff
Its fun!
