Got a link in AIM today and it was when the URL loads it wants to dowload a file, the file that actually downloads is named checkit.exe. click on it and nothe visually happens, then it deletes itself from desktop. and continuosly send the link
to you all your friends on the buddy list. None of the virus scanners or ad ware or anything else seems to detect anything going on. can i get any input on this?

I got a virus almost exactly the same as that one the first thing i did was log off aim so my friends did not get the same thing then reloaded aim and have had no truble since

IM links should never be clicked on, unless you are actively IM'ing the person sending it. Just like Email attachments, you should not open links or attachments from people unless you are expecting these.
