I have had trouble with both my laptop and on my new computer system I built.
They both do the same thing. My laptop did run sygate for a little while then just gave me this error one day when trying to start.

I have been without a firewall for a while and dont really like it. I recently uninstalled the old version of sygate free and downloaded and installed the newest version. Well I installed it and it told me to restart.

I did and as soon as the computer booted it gave me the error!

I took screenshots of the error and its contents in hopes some of you might could help me. And when we find the problem this post can also help others who may have the same problem as I do.

Here are the screenshots.

This is what it gives me as soon as it loads:

This is the error contents:

And this is the error details:

Thanks for any help!

Sygate loves Local Area Network. One time I had disabled my Local Area Network and Sygate gave those errors. I had deleted and reinstalled several times until I read somewhere on the forums about this. As soon as I enabled my Local Area Network everything worked fine. You don't have to use the LAN. I don't use it as I'm on a dialup network. Hope this helps. Thanks. dance.gif

You wont believe this! I a while back disabled it because I did not use it! That may have been when it quit! I enabled it and it works now!

I think im going to have to do a small tutorial on my site on this to help others.
Thanks for pointing that out!

Very nice tip there 10rand!

If you go to CGM3's site, you'll see he has added that tip in the tutorials section.

Thanks for sharing that info. I'm sure it will help others here in the future.

regards,
Koan

You think it would be ok if I posted a link or added the thing here in my post here?

I have no problem with that if the moderators do not object. Just want to acknowledge that I read it at the forums at 'pcanswers.co.uk', unfortunately it was a long time ago and I couldn't find the link to that post. As I've said, I'm glad I could assist. Thanks.
