http://forums.adobe.com/thread/373577You will find that alot is down to memory space etc that cause this type of error and is definatley machne specific as I have encountered this before on CS4.
You must clear out anything adobe cs3/cs4 related before you attempt a re-install, especially in the program files folder. Be careful not to remove any shared components (which should be in the common / shared folders anyway) or any other adobe programs in the process.

Which would be the safest option than a manual delete. Make sure you have winzip (or zip compatible os) as the files are um... zipped lol! And make sure you virus scan them too, they are from a trusted source (adobe direct) but best be safe than sorry!
