Scenario:
A network is setup in a remote location from PC1. This network is run by an IBM iseries running OS400. Since PC1 is out in the middle of nowhere, the only way to connect to the server is through a dial up connection. PC1 needs to get folders off of this server through windows 2000 pro.
Question:
Can you map drives over a dial-up network connection so that PC1 can view and retrieve files and folders.
There are no problems mapping drives to the server from locally connected PC's.
ex. \\iseriesname\folder
But I can't get it working from the remote location on PC1. I thought that once you were dialed into the server the connection would act like a local one, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe it is and I am doing something wrong. Can someone help me?
Thanks
