cool aint this fun!
Eric
my parents named me Eric tongue.gif
nmdamgud
i just hate it when that happens. my 3 were all called "hey you", or "you there", until they were old enough to name themselves.
Herk
I got my handle many years ago from an email correspondent - probably thirteen or fourteen years, IIRC.

We were both into reading mysteries and started signing our emails with mystery characters and the like. One day I signed off "Hercule" - as in Poirot. The next day, she addressed the email to "Herk" and it stuck.

Travelling around the net, I find that everywhere I go, somebody named Herk has already used that name there, and I often just sign up as Herkv ("v" for five, since I often find that Herk1, Herk2, Herk3 and so on are already used, too.)
phawgg
offtopic.gif I'm guilty of it...but I just had to comment on Eric's Sig !!!!!!! lmfao.gif lmfao.gif lmfao.gif

Herk , if you could please get your magnifying glass out and figure out who in blazes name is that person running up behind poor litttle Eric I'm sure we'd all feel better about things here at BC!
cowsgonemadd3
Im confused I saw that same sig thang with the baby being kicked on another forum and brunt had it in his........where did you get it from?
Triglav
Triglav is a mountain in Slovenia, the highest mountain of Slovenia. It is situated in the National Park Triglav.

I was there on holiday 5 years ago or so, and it was so great: no tourists, no advertising signs, no ski-elevators and the hiking cabin only sold selfmade soup!!
I walked to the top of Tosc, it was so quit up there, you could here pieces of rocks fall down...

aaah, memories....
Scarlett
offtopic.gif O.K. me too. I just had to say that I find the baby being kicked just a little on the offensive side. Some things just aren't funny. .............Triglav & Herk are very cool names. Triglav what is your avatar?
Pandy
Ah Scarlett {hug}!! I'm glad you said something. I will back you up on that one. I HATE that image in that sig. I am a mom and find it offensive. I mean what in blazes is your point there Eric? Hmmm? Maybe CGM3 has a point there about brunt. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif ranting2.gif

The tasteless file seems to have been removed. Looked like something Monty Python would do.

How did Monty Python get their name?  (getting back to the subject   whistling.gif  sorta)

Here ya go Phawgg. smile.gif ...........The show's title "Monty Python's Flying Circus" was derived from the BBC's initial idea of "John Cleese's Flying Circus". John did not want the show to revolve around him and as a result he suggested "Python" and Eric Idle suggested "Monty". .....Not as interesting as one would think, huh? w00t.gif...........Now to get back on topic whistling.gif ..... There are a lot of new members here. How did you all get your names????
Eric Bland
Mine is easy, I was born with it. (=
diggem
Well, I suppose I can share......LOL

Diggem is a name I came up with when creating a character for the old RPG game Ultima Online. We had organized a guild of Player Killers(PK) which was called "The Cereal Killers" hence my full name was Diggem Smacks, I have since shortened it to Diggem. Some other cool names from the group back then was Capt N Crunch, Cocoa Crispies, and Trix.

Fun game for the times but required way too much time, which I have since not had to play.

Good name I think nonetheless !!!!
cowsgonemadd3
Neat!
Grinler
Diggem what shard were you on? I was dread on and off myself on catskills. Had a big clan there.
diggem
Mostly played on Baja as Diggem but also used another char named D.O.C. which is short for Disciple of Christ. Was a bard, he was tough too, lol
noonytunes
I was totally lacking in imagination when i got to this site, so I just used my real name
Think I'd like to change it, though, I feel so conspicuous

hmmmm, conspicuous.....sounds like a good one for word association game

OH....hi to the one here in new mexico!...(I can't scroll back now)

huh.gif
Grinler
Diggem,

The days of UO were great...it just got too time consuming and boring

Nancy let me know if you would like to change your name
bwolf

cowsgonemadd3
You can not do it. Grinler has to edit your name in his cp.
LoLucky
Well here goes mine late as usual but nonetheless here

I change my name like some change their underwear /shiver

My name Started out on AOL as: LoLuckyve = Lucky in Love = LO lucky VE
Get it got it good!

Well after a Few years of this name being completely not true, (sob story) and things on AOL with friends and enemies. I decided to change it. I thought about it a month or so and decided to make it: LoLucky = Low Lucky = because I was Low in luck at the time

One day I called to cancel AOL because, I was tired of bending over and taking it where the sun don't shine, and I got Broadband so only used AIM not E-Mail. They canceled it, then when I tried to sign on AIM as LoLucky it said the Account couldn’t be accessed. I called up AOL and this was at the time when they decided to make AIM and AOL accounts on same server. Since I created LoLucky for AOL I would have to keep Paying for it, or wait 5+ years for the account to be re-released, to keep using LoLucky. But everyone knew me AS LoLucky, so I decided to pay for it that was 3 years ago and I’m still paying for it $2.95 a Month (account is on Hold) (I’m still bending over for them)
Now everything I have is LoLucky, and on sites that make you sign up with Alphanumeric Username I stay away from them.
When I started College some people in my college Dorm found out my handle, and all of a sudden teachers and classmates were calling me LoLucky. Now I’m out of college and still get called LoLucky, some people even snail-mail me as LoLucky. (Post Office Knows)

I’ve been thinking about changing it again, but I have no clue where I would go from here. One day I might just be known as L! (HeHe) But that’s a ways down the road.
bwolf
I came up with my name because I love wolves and the woods, I also love hunting (hehe)
MadameX
I choose my name from the movie by the same name "MadameX"

As a teenager my mom and I would watch the movie every time it came on tv. We ALWAYS wound up bawling!

So, when I was joining some of these forums, it came to mind and I chose it.

Deb
Notorious
I'm naughty by nature... tongue.gif whistling.gif Can't do nothing about it.. cool.gif dance.gif

Well I'm using different nicks at different forums.. Notorious was first thing that came to my mind when I was registering at this forum.. rolleyes.gif
bricat
nothing exciting or exotic, the first three letters of my christian name added to the first three letters of my surname. boring eh. wacko.gif
Scarlett
The reason behind it may seem boring. Maybe.. But the end result is pretty cool. I like it. smile.gif
Bear
Well I guess Bear, came from my now 18 year old daughter. She told me one day I was as grouchy as an old Bear (no way not me) smile.gif and that I needed to hibernate for the winter and wake up in a better mood. That was when she was 10 years old so I've had this nick name for a while now. smile.gif
yano
Well the first four letter of my last name are YANO (my nickname at school tongue.gif ) and when we got AOL ( crazy.gif ) back in 1999 we were trying to come up with screen names, well my dad suggested to add WHIZ since I'm so good with computers, and we just stuck it at the end. smile.gif

So the end result YANO + WHIZ

However, I've been thinking about dropping the H cause I wanna get my license plate YANOWHIZ but that doesn't fit on license plates... sad.gif
ralahinn1
Ralahinn is an old word(forgot which country) for a being like an imp/angel/small dragon...ralahinn1 would be Lucifer which means light...My real first name,Lenora laugh.gif also means light...and the "atributes" of a ralahinn are mine, too specool.gif
nanakat

SaxonManFinland
cold.gif Well my monika is quite simple I guess. crazy.gif Being English and living in Finland I wanted a connection. Thus Saxon Man Finland. In an earlier life I was Saxon Knight, SaxonMan and even AngloSaxonMan..........But everyone thought my name was Anglo or Angelo w00t.gif

OH I stole the SAXON bit of the name from a Lady Called SaxonLady in_love.gif .

As my father is English (all the way back to 1066, when it turns out we were French Invaders. Frodo De Tylny Knight General horse.gif for William The Conquer, First King of All England), My Mother is South African with German and Irish Parents, I felt in need of some Roots. No One was happier than me when Europe decided to get its act together.NOW I am English, British and a Proud European clapping.gif lmfao.gif
ufoshadow
Back in the mid 1970's Universal Oil Products sponsored a lead-free fuel Can-Am racing car called the UOP Shadow.....my friends all say I'm "out there" so hence the "ufo" part of my name....
catweazle
A children's fantasy comedy drama series in the 1970's. An 11th century wizard Catweazle, that's him up on the left (nothing like me honestly :-) ) accidentally transports himself to the 20th century whilst trying to escape from some Norman soldiers, he is befriended by a young boy and finds that everything around him is magic. He had a pet Toad or 'familiar' which he called touchwood. Happy memories and a link thanks to Jack the haack...

Tallman
Let me just say that my nick says something about my physical appearance...
frankie12
Name and favorite number. Kind of weird isn't it?
farky
Just a nickname based on my last name.
ShadowWalker
I got mine when i created a character while writing fan fiction for a TV Show called "Birds of Prey" you can read more about the show here: www.birdsofpreyonline.com

It's kinda staright forwards, Walking in Shadows.
Coz
My nick comes from one of my favorite musicals 'Les Miserables'. In it's long form that I use in RPGing it's 'Cozette'. I use to use 'Eponine'...but that sorta sounded like some sorta drug or disease. So Cozette it became. For the sake of saving time it got shortened down to Coz. ;)
My real name is Tish. ;) I mention that because in places that 'feel' real and are important to me...I often slip and sign off a message using Tish without thinkin'. Originally Trish for Patricia.
My youngest brother had a lisp as a toddler and could never get his 'R's' out correctly...so I turned into a Tish. Stuck from that day on. It helped out alot growing up, though. There were a ton of Trish, Trisha, Patricias etc...but I was the only Tish. ;)
mandoora
I used to play a bit of counter strike and used the handle "el tweeto mandoora" which was a conjured up spanish alias to 'bird man' which is an extention of my nick name amoungst friends 'birdie'... this I got from spending quite some time talking to a bird at the local pet shop.. after smoking some interesting tea...

Anyways, the long and short of it, mandoora ended up being the alias I use when performing solo (as opposed to with a band)... and I am the only person on the net that I am aware of that uses this as a handle... makes it easy for user names etc.
Starbuck
About 3 years ago a friend bought me a large glass coffee mug from 'starbucks'.
Coffee mugs come and go in our house, but that one still remains in one piece.....
cos only i'm allowed to use it!!
~Kat~
ummmmm....

here's a big fat secret for you all...

that's my NAME!

I know, I'm very original and funny! ;)
Leurgy
Some time ago I used to know a woman from Scotland who spoke about the Dreaded Leurgy to describe a cold or flu, as in "I'm staying in bed today as I have the Dreaded Leurgy". Somehow that became convoluted over time to become synonymous with the Boogeyman, and we used to tease the kids by saying things like, "Watch out or the Dreaded Leurgy's gonna get you".

One day as I was digging through a big freezer my niece stopped to ask me what I was looking for. "The Dreaded Leurgy", I told her. "Uncle Jimmy, I think your the Dreaded Leurgy", she replied. And so it stuck.
Scarlett
Now that is quite an interesting story. I always wondered how you came across such an unique name.

There was a young woman from Scotland...... laugh.gif
Leurgy
No, no, no it wasn't that young woman from Scotland. smile.gif

I used to keep a small carry all kind of case in my car that was full of little magic tricks and puzzles and the like when all the kids were younger. I'd stop at toy stores and pick some new things up about once a month. (I'm speaking of nieces and nephews as I have never had kids of my own unfortunately). They were always excited when I came to visit cause they all wanted to see what was in the "Dreaded Leurgy Bag" now.

Had a lot of fun with that one. lmfao.gif
SaxonManFinland
WELL WELL!!! Ever since I saw the name LEURGY I laughted because as a kid and even today a cold, virus or unknown minor illness is called in the East of England "The LURGY" (or any spelling varient) When I saw the handle LEURGY I smiled wondering if LEURGY really knew what the name meant??? Now it turns out YOU DO!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
