Hi, I'm using Windows XP on a laptop and I've been having a problem with RtkHDAud.sys for a while now. Every time I start up Skype there's a good chance my computer will give me the blue screen of death, and when I restart it'll tell me that the RtkHDAud.sys is what caused the error and gives me a link to the Realtek website, which as far as I can tell, does not help me at all. My computer also crashes sometimes when I play Warcraft III, but so far I have not gotten this error for any other computer game. It crashes for the same reason, and when I turn off sound for the game, it works perfectly.

Your RealTek audio drivers are likely to be corrupted - and as such, they are likely to be causing the crashes.
Uninstall your sound software and hardware, then download and install the latest version of the software from the manufacturer of your system.

I had a similar problem with my new LapTop and Dragon Naturally Speaking. I tried the latest drivers with no fix. I then removed all files and drivers that my sound card was using and installed an OLDER version of drivers (Rolled back from v 2.14 to v 2.10) That fixed the problem.
