Hey melo!

Finding tutorials for Photoshop is really easy, by just typing it into google, but I have found you a couple of links that will help you create different things in Photoshop, plus learn your way around the interface of Photoshop.

Photoshop Essentials -- I've linked directly to where you'll be able to learn the interface; brushes, making custom swatches, working with layers (which is really important), etc.

Adobe Tutorialz -- Here is a site with just a bunch of little tutorials that you can learn. If you click on Adobe Photoshop on the menu to the left, it'll show some more tutorials.

Also, if you want to look for some more, when you're typing in Photoshop Tutorials, make sure you add in the version of you have, so "Photoshop X Tutorials" and where X is, just add in whether its CS, CS2, or CS3, or CS4, etc.

Good luck to you and if you have any further questions or need help searching for some more, let me know! smile.gif

It's the only way to learn something - to do this. Open Photoshop, take a photo, take a tutorial (won't give you links, google has TONS of them) and try to create. I learned Photoshop exactly this way smile.gif The only I can advise, choose tutorials for beginners, and after mastering all the basic tricks, go to the advanced skills.

Not to scare you or anyting, but if you want to be a professional photographer, you will probably need to learn how to use Adobe After Effects aswell, if you want to do HDR imaging smile.gif

But one step at a time.

Hint: adjust levels, edit curves :D

I've been using Photoshop for a few years, but I still don't know how to do everything. Whenever I am trying to achieve a certain effect or accomplish something I don't know how to do, I google search with various related terms and "photoshop" to find a tutorial. Like, when I wanted to create a logo similar to "American Idol" for a party room, I searched for "American Idol Logo Photoshop" and I found step-by-step instructions on how to do it (and learned about the stroke tool, which has been amazing to know about!).

Here are some great sites that I recommend to my students:

http://www.pslover.com/

http://www.photoshopessentials.com/ (there are a bunch of ads on this site, but it's worth scrolling past them)
http://www.absolutecross.com/tutorials/photoshop/

When you get more adventurous, visit http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/

And yes, curves and levels are the key. Experiment, save copies, and have fun.

Actually, in my opinion, the BEST way to learn Photoshop is to get a book called "Real World Photoshop." There's a few versions out there depending on the version of Photoshop you have (be it CS2, CS3, etc). It covers everything you want to know about Photoshop and is geared towards newbies and seasoned pros. I bought their Illustrator CS2 book and read it from cover to cover. You won't find a better book. It may be a little pricey for some, but well worth it if you want to become a Photoshop user. Pretty much any online book store has copies, but I suggest going to Alibris.com for a cheap used copy, or Borders Marketplace.

Good luck!
