Full Version: Weird Devices In Device Manager

So, I'm really baffled as to how to fix this problem. I've scanned for viruses and spyware, came up with pretty much nothing. I've tried resetting tcp/ip and winsock (netsh stuff). I've tried sfc /scannow. I've tried uninstalling each device, but they just stay there. Any ideas? Is there any way to do a repair install to vista like you could with XP?

ISATAP is valid and should remain

I agree, but my question is why the heck is that showing up in device manager?

It's a driver

What kind of problems are you having?

The devices don't look weird on my machine

Uninstall all of the 6to4 devices and all of the isatap devices, then reboot your system.
Most times they won't even come back - but if they do, there's a good chance that they'll be installed correctly.

You can do the same thing with the WAN Miniports also - but they will usually come back.

Although these are Microsoft drivers, I've found that most of the problems are with HP systems

There's lot's of other things to do to these things - but most depends upon what has installed it, and what (if anything) is using it. Checking the Event Viewer for messages (errors, warnings, and information items) may help to isolate this.

Those devices will show up in Safe Mode, and to get rid of the 6to4 which is for IPv6 to IPv4 routing you just disable IPv6 support in Windows.

Uninstalling in that order made the difference. Thanks!
