Hello,
If someone who is more knowledgeable about security stuff and the rules for posting would like to msg me I would like to show my thanks to this site by sharing how i got rid of a version of antivirus-2008 that included registry keys and files not listed anywhere else (as far as I can tell). The suspect files are
9a.exe
9a.tmp.exe and
sflpt.exe.
All of these were hiding in my
C:\documents and settings\[username]\local settings\temp.

It was a combination of about seven different programs, registry deleting, msconfiging and other crap. I will be happy to share what worked for me and what didnt. I just want to do it in the most accurate/helpful way possible so if anyone sees this give me a ring.

Welcome to BC edcmf

Do you know that we have a self-help section for removing common malware.

Please see the tutorials How to remove Windows Antivirus 2008 and How to remove Antivirus XP 2008.

The tutorials include instructions for using MBAM. Unfortunately, SpywareDoctor is not enough.

....I did fix the problem, thats the point.....I am trying to update the kind people who run this show with the new files I found to be infected with the virus- as I did not see them listed in any of the already posted tutorials on dealing with this particular problem.
So...if anybody would like to direct me as to the most organized manner for relating this info, I would be happy to share what I found...
