A computer has Adobe Reader 9.0 and was able to preview .pdf files in 'My Documents' - have an occasional need to create original .pdf file and have installed Adobe Standard 6.0 (my company has no more funds for software) - since the Adobe 6.0 install, the preview has ceased. I have uninstalled Adobe 6.0 to no avail - is there a registry entry needing repair? I have tried system restore as well - still can't preview .pdf files - any ideas?

See if you can preview with Foxit

the preview software isn't working - am going to delete both versions and just use the Adobe Standard 6.0 - are there add-ins anywhere that a typical uninstallation doen't kill?

Not to my knowledge

Discovered the solution!! thumbup.gif - I needed to keep within one generation of application - preview works with Adobe Standard 6.0 and Reader 7.1 - but no later - Reader 9 requires a minimum of Adobe Standard 8 (but I've found is compatible with Adobe 7 Professional - interesting)

Good to read that. I have a somewhat similar problem with viewing via Adobe also. I have Adobe 8 installed and was quite happy with it but the other day I bought an Epson V350 scanner and during the install I installed Adobe 6 (that was on the install CD) onto my laptop. Now whenever I want to view pdf files online the Adobe 6 reader pops up and a dialog box appears announcing that this version of Adobe cannot read the contents. I don't want to just delete one or the other but what can I do?
