My first car was a 1958 Dodge Royal. It was my Fathers car and it was boss as a horse and we used to say in those days.

It had a push button transmission with 300 HP. I used to take air cleaner off and it would sound mean. Also I would drive in second gear and everybody thought I had a stick shift. lol. Had alot of fun with that car.

Aah, memories! My first car was a 'gently used' 1959 Pontiac 'Parisienne' - a dusty pink 'boat' with matching brocade upholstery, 3 ashtrays in front dash, tons of leg room and a lovely big engine. Yup, I could even parallel park it!

Pandy
My first car was a 1993 Buick Skylark, that got totalled in May. I had it for almost a year. It was for the best. It had an engine light on all the time and it wouldn't have passed inspection anyway. Not without a lot more money into repairs.. again. LOL

My first vehicle wasn't a car or truck. But it has defined my choices in vehicles. I was the proud owner of a brand new, off the showroom floor, 1971 Yamaha R5 350. Do you have any idea how many burgers I flipped and newspapers I delivered to buy that thing. hysterical.gif

Mine was a White over tan Pontiac Ventura 2dr It looked like the car in the link, but without the mags. Best part was the sound system - the cause of my hearing lose. Every time I go huh?, I blame the car hysterical.gif

First car was a Ford Orion.

1996 Dodge Intrepid. My dad gave it to me a week ago when I got my license. I took it to the shop today and it's not looking good sad.gif . To pass NY state inspection in December, they said it will need about $1,500 worth of work. Right now though, they are only fixing the brakes, and fixing a leak that was filling my car with the sweet aroma of gasoline. They told me it wouldn't be worth fixing, but I have faith tongue.gif.

The guy told me the car is only worth around $300 (I know he was exaggerating though), and its just not worth fixing. My theory is what's the sense of buying another car for 2 or 3 grand because It's going to need work anyway. Also, I know what's wrong with this one, another might have some serious problems.

Ooooh! A car topic! Nice!

Since I got my license late in my life, I still have my first car... actually I have 2 first cars lol! But theoretically, my first one was the one I learned driving with. 1993 Pontiac Grand Am SE V6. Great little car, sporty and very nimble. It means business. On one of my first "on the road" drives with it, I burned rubber at a stop light because I hit the accelerator a little too much... surprised the heck out of me. whistling.gif hysterical.gif

Then me and my husband bought another car. This one's a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, Supercharged. That thing rocks! I in_love.gif my car!

Well, Mercedes Benz C-Class is my first car.... I like it very much

My first car was a red '89 Chevrolet Beretta GTU. It wasn't the fastest car, but it handled like a dream. It looked something like this:

The 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale handed down from my parents. It was the 1st year for unleaded gas. When the cat convertor went bad, they wanted like 600.00 for a new one, so I bought and installed a test pipe, took off references to "use unleaded gas" , screwed off the gas inlet, and put on one from 1974. Car ran a lot better then, and passed inspection. Also took off about 100 pounds of emmisions equipment. (It passed emmissions too). Mine was white. I got ran over by a truck in Newark NJ (pronounced "Nork"), sold it to the local junk yard for 200.00 bucks, and they used it to push cars around for a year or so.

My son asked me the same question once. When I told him that it was a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk he asked "What the hell is a Studebaker?"

Mine was nowhere near as clean as this one, but it would scat with somewhere around 275 HP.

Layback Bear
1938 cheve, country touring sedan. Wish I still had it. ($$$$$)

AW, Not the Datty Mate, Top little Car that could flog just about any thing on cornering. Only do 100MPH tops, but would do it all day through the Mountains and Bendy Country.

My First Car was a 1958 Mark 2 Zephyr. It used to Flog the Holdens at the time.

1963 VW Beetle - surprising what trouble an enterprising young teenager could get into in one of them! smile.gif

I love this thread it's like a walk down memory lane.

My first car was a 57 Chevy which was handed down to me. My father bought it for my older sister and when she left home I inherited it. It was a 2 door sedan the 210 model. I always wanted a 2 door hardtop Bel-Air but never did get one. The one I drove had a 283 V-8 with a Powerglide tranny. They were not made for teenagers with a heavy foot and after I tore the transmission up the second time my father sold it and told me to walk for awhile.

The first car that I personally bought other than some old wore out junkers was a 65 Olds F-85. It had the same engine as the first 442s but not as powerful. Really nice car though and was only around 4 years old when I bought it.

I drive my wife crazy when we watch movies that have older cars in them. I am always saying there's a (fill-in-the-blank) and since she cares nothing at all about them I just get stared at. Doesn't stop me though. Heh Heh. hysterical.gif

1963 VW Beetle

My first was a 1970 Ford Maverick. Second was a 1969 Chevelle SS all original.
I have no idea the total number of cars/trucks I've had, but... (reason for the quote)
I have owned 19 VW Beetles. Most were just stock drivers with a few baja bugs.
Except for three worth noting:
1969 Drag car
1968 Show car
1966 Show-off car for a radio station.
