Hi,

Hope this is the right forum for this question.
I am having a problem when I shut my puter down or reboot. When it comes back up I ALWAYS get an error message:
QUOTE
Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer.

I researched the prob at Microsoft, and the only prob I seen even close had to due with my Norton AV, so I removed it. Still no help. Any suggestions? It is very aggrevating trying to reboot. Usually I have to accept Safe Mode and shut down from there and my odds are better, but still a CRAP shoot on whether I get back on or not.
Thanks for any help or advise.

Do me a favor and go here and run the test on the site

http://pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/default.asp and post the results back. There will be a link called techexpress click on that and copy and paste that back here and we will find whats causing this

Here is a screenshot how to post the results back here

Sorry for the late reply!!!
Have you run it's suggestion's? Your cpu load is very high which mean you
1 have a virus
2 have alot of spyware that the test didnt pick up
3 have alot of running processes running in the background
If you can put some stuff ona cd so to clear up some of your hard drive space.
And if possible click on my sig that says free programs and download hijack this and post back in this forum! We will get this under control. !!!

Yes I did and it seemed to help alot. I added Diskeeper and it helped defrag much better, it ran @ 8MB/s. Now I re-ran the PCpitstop and this is what I get:
http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=HMGGLW4S6JUSABYE
Something seems to be stealing power again? I can't figure it out. I also went to Microsofts sites trying to figure out my re-boot problem and I can't find that either. It is very frustrating because everytime in safe mode you change something in msconfig you have to re-boot? Hell, getting back on is what drives me nuts, it can take 30 minutes to get it back up, I think my machine needs some Viagra?
Sometimes in my re-boot if I hit Esc while re-booting after AVG loads it seems my odds of getting back up increase?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Allen

Also what comes after the Windows protection fault? Is there an error code?
brunt
As above post a hijack thi log!

Try this. Uninstall yuor Kodack software, as it is giving you some errors in the test! Also so is your printer! Try uninstalling anything to do with these 2 inclucding drivers. Reboot see if it still goes on! If not reisntall those. Also do you use real player? Also download the program in y signature called clean up your system with this! This will clean alot of uneded stuff out of your temp files!
allenp109
No.
It just freezes up and I Alt Ctrl Delete and it comes back up suggesting safe mode.

I think I am having a problem with my keyboard. I tried isolating it with the device manager and it still had re-boot problems.
