Is that the latest GTA? I'm not sure if it came out for the PS2 platform or just the PS3. One sure way to check is to look at the box and see if it says "playstation 2" on it....if it says "playstation 3", then it won't work on the PS2. If it says "playstation 2" on it, then it'll work in the PS2 and PS3.

GTA IV is a release only for the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

I don't think they are planning a release for PS2 or the Wii.

Hope this helps,
Cornzey

A lot of new games aren't coming out for the PS2 anymore. I'm pretty disappointed because a couple months ago I bought a new slim one because my old fatty died (for the third time...). Anyway I figured it would be good because I'm a cheap person and the games are usually cheaper than xbox 360 games.

Isn't this game coming out on pc later this year? Not that it matters for me, I am still stuck on San Andreas.

Where are you stuck in SA?

The game engine cannot be supported by the hardware in the PS2 unfortunately. You probably will not see GTAIV on PS2 ever sad.gif. In about 6 months to a year we may see it ported to PC though, so you can get it for that at least.

As I have mentioned somewhere else on bc, on the flying school. I've used the slowitdown cheat but it only helps a little.

Also stuck on the one where you have to fly a helicopter in a warehouse. I just can't control it very well.

It takes practice, lots and lots of practice to pass that. It's the only area I had trouble with.

Also, I find that changing the input options helps a great deal. I had great difficulty handling the Harrier with keyboard and mouse so I switched to using my Logitech joystick and can fly it a lot easier now.

I have a Logitech gamepad, but have trouble configuring it correctly for flying.
nigglesnush85
Try calibrating it in the control panel then try configuring it in GTA.

I had already calibrated it correctly, just can't configure it properly for GTA. Also for Jedi Knight 2, Jedi Outcast and DarkStar one.

Probably just not a very good gamepad.

Ya, as stated above, the PS2 wont come close to handling all of GTA4. I read in a gaming magazine, that they couldn't even fit everything they wanted too on the newer consoles..who knows what the future holds..
KingOfIdiocy
Anyone know what spec is required for the upcoming pc version?(Hopefully no flying school in it. I hate the races as well.)
JR9999
King,
I searched all threw Google looking for the same question about the specs, all i could find was a few posts saying that if u can run COD4 good, then you will be all right. Hopefully the PC gamers will get the same excitement as the console players
KingOfIdiocy
So I have the computer power, but can I justify spending £35 on a game I will suck at? I will probably wait for it to get cheaper.
JR9999
well, the single player mode experience, you can get around sucking, just use cheats when u cant get any further, as for the multi player, not sure what the pc version will be like if there is one...

Not sure but I'm sure it will be demanding, even the 360 struggles on a six star chase. It will also require quite a bit of hard drive space.

Well, I suck while using cheats on San Andreas. People who've read my posts in this thread will be wondering why I bother with the game at all.
nigglesnush85
It all takes practice. If you type THGLOJ during the game there will be less to no traffic you can practice driving skills without much distraction.
JR9999
Ha Ha great cheat nigglesnush, use it all the time...But ya, like he said, just practice a bit, and if u look on the bright side, this is fun practice!!!!

I have all the cheats. Fun practice? Fun? I've had to replace two keyboards because of frustration while playing this game.
nigglesnush85
Did you brake the keyboards while doing the missions? Try just driving around and experimenting with the different vehicles.

During the flying missions. Not too bad in the ground vehicles. What's a buster?
nigglesnush85
What's a buster?

I'm not sure what you mean, where are you referring to?
JR9999
i think a buster is a food ration if thats what your referring too, And ya, i just take off from the missions from time to time to play around and let out some steam on a cop or random civilian haha

In San Andreas, the term is often used, as in "You buster fool", and "Hey CJ, you're a buster", though it's pronounced 'busta' in the game.

In the link you provided above, I could only see playstation saves.
