I am a long time paint user, and can do wonders in paint, but there is only so far you can go with paint....time to move to photoshop...

I am looking for some very simple tutorials, as everytime i try to do anything, I can never figure anything out....(btw, I have already seen the you suck at photoshop vidoes, and they look really good, but I am not even able to get that far with my lack of skills...

common mistake most newbies make in photoshop is not understanding layers, study your layers and alway keep an eye on witch layer you are on, you can not work on a layer that is not hilighted,,

if you are into the creative arts side of computers checkout justins new forum, two weeks old yesterday, he is working on a photoshop tutorial now, usualy retail at $15 us, £7, an absolute bargin for up to 2 gig tutorials, it will be his first photoshop toot so it will be a back to basics tutorial and a great forum if you want to ask the very basic questions without being laught at,

a site i help to run/moderate is a photoshop contest site talk about being thrown in at the deep end and having fun at the same time, you can ask the stupidest questions in the forum or chat page X 2 and if anyone gives you bleep i will delete there comment, (cant say fairer than that) but usualy you will get a polite answer and any help you need, i have the same user name over there too, splodge

Please check my Photoshop FAQ. It is outdated, but will still help you as a beginner for what the tools do, how to install brushes/fonts. There is also a list of great tutorial sites listed there.

P.s. Splodge, any chance of updating my faq with the extra tools and stuff? I dont have CS3 so there are a few tools missing smile.gif
