I am having a similar problem as well. My computer will load most websites quickly, but secure websites are either extremely slow in loading or they do not load at all. I think I've tried every fix/suggestion on this thread and the other one you listed.

Today I did a ping test and at 1473 it fragments, but at 1472 it times out. Anyone have anymore suggestions?

I'm still trying to get into secure websites. They either load very slowly or do not load at all. One of the many things I've tried to do is check the MTU. I've checked many sites, but mainly yahoo since that's where I'm having the most problem.

At 1472 request times out

I've run spybot, disabled firewalls (although I did see some improvement when I disabled IE phishing filter), used different browsers, etc. In safe mode, regular websites come up just fine, but the secure sites crash the browser.

Anyone have anymore ideas?
