Hi folks, I really like the fact that Ubuntu offers automatic updates for the software it holds but I'm wondering which of the hundreds of other Linux based distros offer a feature like Ubuntu to update the software periodically. I was even able to upgrade my old version of Ubuntu 7.10 to the newer 8.04. I am looking for other distros like this but with a smaller footprint. I have tried xubuntu and its nice but still too large IMO.

Not sure of your definition of 'automatic' updates, but in PCLinuxOS you open
the package manager "Synaptic" and hit the Reload button and it shows all the
updates that can be installed.
"Mark All Updates" will then update the system. It is an interactive process, not fully
automatic.

Yes, Yes, this is what I mean. I have tiny me installed on a laptop but I havent used it enough to know.

Do you know if Knoppix works in this way also? I really like the looks and offerings from knoppix but I don't know if it nworks like this also.
