just downloaded an AVI, which is 111mb in size, and no matter what i use, DIVX, Quicktime, WMP, Realplayer, none of them will play it. Any ideas as to why? When i click on properties, 'type of file' says 'video clip'. help!!!

Have you downloaded the correct codecs for viewing .avi

Also, http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ its a great media player, can play a mountain of formats.

Download the K lite Mega Codec pack and then use Vlc player to play the file

Although it had an AVI icon, the file was actually a DVD rip. KM player sorted that. Thanks anyway guys. xx
