My wife's macbook won't connect to our wireless network. The macbook will connect directly to the comcast modem. it can connect to other wireless networks (wifi hotspots etc). It just won't connect to the network at home and can't figure out why. The router is a d-link DI-624. her old laptop (A dell) was able to connect with a linksys wireless (wireless g). The home wireless network is password protected and when we go through the steps suggested by mac (rebooting the pc, modem and router) it still won't work. the macbook recognizes the network exists it just won't let us access it. We've entered the password and that doesn't work. Any suggestions? the router isn't that old (2-3 years), but would it be better to buy a new one? Thanks in advance.

you might try getting into the router itself if you have not already.

Connect the router directly to the laptop, then open an internet page and put the in the default d-link IP address ( 192.168.0.1 ) in the address bar.
This will take you straight to the router, the default username is admin and the password is "blank".
From hear you can change the WEP key and other wireless settings.

NOTE: If you can't get into the router you may need to hold in the reset button on the back for several seconds to set it back to factory defaults.
Before you do this you need to get a hold of you isp provider and get the correct ip information to put in the router.
