Is Vista worth it? Do I have a choice? Hardly anyone sells a computer now without it; they add XP for 200$ which is a large part of the total cost of the durn machine! How much memory will I need to run it well?
Thanks, Vadajohn

hi vadajohn.

I have a Vista Premium SP1 with 2.5gb RAM. And it worked just perfect. thumbup2.gif
When I first bought my laptop, it just had a 1gb of RAM. Kind of slow. So i decided
to upgrade my RAM. And I'm happy I did. thumbup.gif

BTW, my vista is preinstalled in my machine. So I have no choice also.
But I'm beginning to like vista. laugh.gif

hi ,,, 2gb of ram is considerd the sweet spot for vista 32bit,,,, where 1gb was for xp. It still runs ok with less but go for 2gb or more if the price is right.

The amount of RAM you need doesn't depend solely on Vista. While about 1 GB is a good enough amount for Vista you should also consider what softwares you are going to use. Photo and Video editing applications (to make slide show and the likes) take a lot of memory space. For those applications a minimum of 2 GB is required.
