Can you provide the precise error messages you get when each action fails? What kind of internet connexion to you have (for example, DSL or dial-up)?
Cheers,
John

my connection is broadband

Are you using webmail or an email client? I don't use my providers webmail because it takes to long to attach a file. Using an email client the attachment process is a lot quicker.
taenamo
it always says:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.

Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

Hi taenamo,

There are many possible reasons why this is happening, and the contributing factors vary for each computer.

Are you still using IE6?

Go to the Control Panel then Network Connections.
Click once on your active Connection.
From the menu on the left, select Repair This Connection.
Try to connect to a site.

Is there any Proxy set or used?
Check to see if set to automatic:

In Firefox,
Go Tools/ Options/ Advanced/ click on the Network Tab, then click Settings.
Select the radio button that says Auto Detect Proxy Settings for all this Network.
Click Okay

In Internet Explorer,
Go to Tools/ Internet Options/ click on the Connections tab, then click on LAN Settings.
Select Automatically Detect Settings.
Click Okay twice.

If still no joy:

Click Start / Run / type in; cmd/ and at the black command screen type in; ipconfig /flushdns
and/or try:
Start / Run / type in; regsvr32 urlmon.dll
Click Okay.

Try some troubleshooting with Error message in IE7: "Internet Explorer cannot Display the Webpage".

Lets try this then.

On the page that displays the Internet Explorer error message, click the Diagnose Connection Problems link (if there is one provided). The Network Diagnostics tool will run. When the tool has finished running, it will report one of the following results:

• It was unable to find a problem.
• It has detected a problem. Additionally, the tool will provide guidance about the next steps to take to troubleshoot the problem.

Follow the steps in the Network Diagnostics tool to fix any connection problems.

If no joy, please have a look at our pinned topic Can't Access Secure Sites.
