I talked to a person who had 5k a while back he said "I will be fine" he never gave me a log.

This is amazing I wonder how many bad sites and junk they had to download to get this kind of log?

WOW!!!!

Shows what spyware, unchecked, can do.

I just spent 30 minutes digging up this old thread.
So I'm bumping it for those who have not seen it.

Tripped out!

I'll say it again, AdAware was one tough cookie against those thousand and
sometimes hundreds of thousands of malware infections found.

You have see it to believe it.

Heretic Monkey
Whoa......... i don't think i'd ever even try anything like that...... i have enough problems with windows as it is, let alone trying to voluntarily infect myself with a bunch of that crap, lol.

The only way i'd think about trying it is if i knew i was going to re-install XP in the next few days, and decided to see how @#^%*!'ed up i could maked my system. Those are some brave monkeys.

Oh, and lmao at the "IE Functionality".... that's a crap-load of tool-bars..... lmfao.gif
boopme

I remember hearing somewhere (cant remember where though) that there were actual records for this and the top one was over 1 gb (!) of spyware, cookies, viruses, etc.

On the page I linked to: http://www.overclockers.com/articles1148/

One had 152,636 objects. 141,991 of those were Netsky.
32 separate infections and a 22,000+ page log over 34 MB in size

Joel headed up the troops with an impressive 115,034 objects. As was the trend in the competition, again 101,462 of those were Netsky. However, this still left Joel with 69 separate infections making up 13,572 objects that were not Netsky. This put Joel in the number one spot in the challenge, as his infection was by far the most awe-inspiring - 69 infections and he was able to complete an adaware scan!

Note To All: DO NOT try this at home! Unless it is test computer! smile.gif

Good gravy!!! blink.gif That is mind boggling!!!! And to think, most people going online don't have any sort of protection for viruses, spyware, malware, and the like!
