Could you please be a little more descriptive about the problem you are having?

When I start the computer, all three fans come on. They seem to be on maximum speed and never shut down while computer is running, even when computer goes into standby.

It's probably running hot. Have you ever had it apart to clean it out?

I checked the temps on heat sinks. The temp on cpu is 78 the other ones are at 83 & 86 farenheit

Hmmm...you sure those temps are fahrenheit? Typically, they are given in centigrade/Celsius.

I used a temp gun set to farenheit
Try downloading
SIW which is a free utility. You will find sensors listed under Hardware, this will show the temperatures as seen in your BIOS. Please post the temperatures here.
I agree with Garmanma that this could be an over heating issue, please open your case and see if you have an accumulation of dust on the heat sink and fan assembly for the CPU. The CPU fan should be temperature controlled which would run faster if there was a dust build up on the heat sink keeping it from dissipating the heat.

hi,,,, as a rough guide on what i have,,, my core2 runs at 27-29 on idal and gets up to about 35-37 on heavy load,,, apparently the multi core processors run alot cooler than single core's,,,, i also have a pentium 4HT 3.4 Ghz which runs around 40-45 on idal and under load it gets up there,,, sometimes up to 70,,, but P4's run hot anyway. What processor and socket do you have,,, google the temps for your processor and take a look,,,,, good luck.

The processor is a 945G Processor I/O controller, CPU Intel Pentium D
cpu socket is LGA775.
34 c=93f which is 20 degrees above ambient
