By "you have already entered" you mean: "Your entry has been accepted", right?! Because I'm pretty sure it was my first and only entry :S

My words exactly. For a second, I got chilled because the instinct told me I'd just ruined one of the few remaining chances to win the Dragon. What a relief to think again and realize it's just the wordplay.

but i have one question after i hit submit entry, it told me that i already had completed entry before, i just want to know if everyone else had the same thing

I just checked for all those people who are concerned they did not submit the entry properly, and you all do have a valid entry so have nothing to worry about.

I am concerned there may be a bug in the app, though.

Please let me know if this is the proper sequence you are doing and running into errors:

1. Go to the contest form.
2. Click on the HDX giveaway link
3. Agree to the terms
4. Fill in your shipping address and the extra questions
5. Press submit.
6. Fill out the contest questions.
7. Press submit.

Now after step 7 did you receive the message stating you already registered? Or did it say something like: "Thank you for entering the contest. ..."

If it did instead say you were already registered, did you do anything that is different from the above steps?

well now when i tried to go to the contest form it said i'm already entered there so i guess i'm fine then and yes after step 7. it states me that i'm already registered so i think it's a bug

I went through steps 1-7 as you outlined above, no differences - unless you want to add researching the answers, but I opened those other pages in different tabs and did not navigate off the contest page per se. I did not get a "Thank you for entering the contest . . ." Instead I got "your entry has been submitted" or something to that effect, and immediately below that in a box type thing was "You have already entered this contest. The winner of the contest will be announced on 2008-06-02." I admit, it did give me a bit of a turn last night, but I knew I hadn't submitted before, anywhere.

Might I add, I like how you set up the contest. Nice way of getting to learn more about the site.

I completed till step three and entered my contact information. haven't completed 3 (partially), 4, 5, 6, 7. But now it give me message like this "You have already entered this contest. The winner of the contest will be announced on 2008-06-02".

I's probably kinda hard to win, but I am really glad I found this site, which can definitely get me out of troubles if something bad happens to my machine.

Also FWIW, I went back to the Contest Center after entering, and it doesn't indicate I have already entered the Dragon competition. o.o

I saw the same somewhat confusing message after step 7:

I entered the information requested in the form from start to finish, in one session (steps 1-7).

The following information may or may not be relevant:

I'm using IE7 and I don't use "Tabbed Browsing", nor do I use the Back/Forward buttons. For any link I want to visit (click on), I never left-click the link -- I always right-click and then select "Open in New Window". So, while entering information in the contest entry form, when I visited one of the links contained in the form, it was always done with: right-click, "Open in New Window". When I was finished looking at the page referenced by the link, I clicked the "X" at the top-right corner of that window (to close the window) and was back at the contest entry form page.

All Green for me. I hope I got the answers right .

I went straight thru the steps with IE7. Had 3 BC pages open as I was doing the boards. Received the you already registered
Actually i never saw the "Thank you for entering the contest. ..." but i logged off at the first message.

KristopherWindsor, you should only see that message if you click on the HDX Dragon Giveaway link again after registering at the main contests page.

Ok all...must be a bug showing the wrong message. I have checked, though, and everyone who has been concerned has an entry. So its all good and you just got the wrong message back. I will fix that.

I have to admit, jazboy's situation is a little strange. Will look into that as well.

Btw, this site is a goldmine . I've already been on other sites participating to the Dragon contest and, to be honest, most of them were Windows/MM centered, which is not really my cup of tea. Now, I believe I've actually won something, whoever the draw will pick.

Your entries are all there...Trying to isolate the bug that is causing the wrong message to appear. Of course I cant reproduce it.

And there is no indication on that page that I have already entered that competition, but I have, so there should be some indication of this.

Thank you for a very nice contest!

I've looked at all of the dragon contests and I think this is the best format of the bunch. Some of them you have to know intimate details of the owners personal life (such narcissists!), some of them are completely random, this one requires you spend a few minutes getting familiar with the basics of the website which I think is just right.

I would also like to say, this is probably one of the few websites in the contest that I'll be coming back to.

I hope to have a review of the unit done before the contest is over, so I should be able to report that for you. Also, if anyone would like me to optimize the laptop before it is shipped out so it does not come with bloatware I would be happy to do so I will leave that up to the winner.

I'm sure I got that one. My entry went in quite smoothly. I bet its mostly other browsers that have some different coding or rendering things.

Thank you, but I have tried numerous browsers on numerous computers. I made some changes to the code that will "hopefully" fix the problem.

I also made it so the main page of the contests section shows if you are already entered in a listed contest.

This is one of the best contests by far because it actually made me interested in this site enough to bookmark it. And it was easy!!! So job well done fellas, and I hope I win

Remember each site participating in this contest, has it's own set of rules and requirements to enter, some for example have required membership, surveys, video submissions etc, read the rules at each site you are entering carefully to make sure you are being entered.

Thanks to HP, this is very innovative, and I for one, would love to see them continue to offer new products the same way, in addition to their site of course. This is really what the internet is about, communities, it's nice to see the manufacturers come into our 'communities', hope more follow suit!

Thats exactly what this is for. Both HP and the sites promoting the product have the advantage of raising knowledge about each others interest. For Grinler as the owner of this site, it naturally is to show each and everyone the great product he and his helpers have grown to "deliver" to the Internet community. From what I learned in the responses here, he seems to have done a great job in it.

I can only encourage to join the fun and look through the different forums while you wait for the draw to have taken place. There is a reason for my 3k plus posts here you know .

I don't think this will affect your entry or your chances of winning.. If you do win, then I'm sure address details can be clarified..
