Full Version: File Associations In Vista

I have a friend that's trying to install a piece of software from the original install CD. The installer Setup.exe file wants to open in it MS Word. We both use the same software and have had no problem in XP, but now that he is using Vista he can't get it to install on his new laptop. It opens the Word file conversion page.
As I don't use Vista, and am not near him to try to help, I'd like to know if there is someplace in that you can change a file association on an EXE file in Vista? I do know in XP if I right click on an exe file I don't get the "Open With" option like on another type of data file.
I hoped I explained this sufficiently.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Figgis, Thanks for the reply, but I don't think this'll help. It sounds like it's still the same as XP in that regard and if it is, an exe file like an installer file doesn't have the "Open with" option on the menu. Only files like a Doc, jep, txt files and so on. Not the exe files.
Thanks anyway.
