i've currently have the stealth virus that i keep getting back from old floppies i have . this time i want to remove it once and forall and promise to never read a floppy unless i scan it first.
So just to be safe i have installed a new HD and did a fresh install of xp. i want to scan the boot sector to be sure i remove it before i go any further. i have run the standard virus scans F-PROT, AVG , Solo, Avira and windows advanced care, but i'm still not sure these are searching the boot sector for the stealth virus. none of them find anything but i know my floppies have it and they don't find iton them either. i don't want to go further unless i'm sure it's gone in this computer before i go to my other computers. so what i'm asking is it there anyway to check my boot sector to be sure it's gone. any software that is designed to scan the boot sector for these viruses?
Any thing else i can do?
