I have had my new Dell Vostro 400 less than a week and I notice this MaxBackServiceInt.exe running in my task manager. I've googled until I'm blue in the face and when I type it here in bleeping computer it sends me to this location, but nothing is said about this specifically. I'm running NOD32 and it hasn't found anything that I can see. If it's spyware, where did I get it? I've been protected either by Live One Care or NOD 32 since I hooked up my computer. I'd really appreciate an answer to what this Max thing is. Thank you!

I do - but everytime I query that .exe on the web, it sends me to Malware or spyware. If its just the software for the maxtor, why does it use 25% of my CPU?
Thanks for replying!

http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-softwa...ogging-cpu.htmlI have read a lot of john will's posts, he is strong with the force
It's up to you, but every program running in the background automatically will impact performance in one way or another,
I prefer to stay close to 99% cpu available

Thanks so much for your help! I read through the entire posting and discovered that I could change that to manual from automatic. I'm not sure how much I actually use Maxtor, but at least now it won't be running all of the time!
