I recently had to reinstall XP on my computer so all of my files on the original hard drive were erased... but I had recently installed an additional hard drive.


When I got the computer out of the shop, the computer does not recognize the hard drive and I dont wanna do anything as far as installing software and stuff on my own trying to fix it.

I dont have the original software that with the hard drive (Western Digital I believe is the brand) so I cant reinstall it to fix it.


Help me out......

Which hard drive can you not see? The second drive? Does it have anything on it . Did the repair shop do the OS reinstall? Were you able to see the 2nd disk before it went to the repair shop? Go to the Control Panel and open Administrative Tools. Click on Computer Management and then Disk Management.
Click on the Action tab and select Rescan Disks. What does it show?

OK...I found it..... all of my info is gone but at least I found the hard drive and was able to use it... thank you for your help....
