There's been a lot of problems with IE for many users with 100% CPU usage and it being slow. When I first got a new computer IE went extremely fast, then after a few months you get it running slow 100% CPU etc. Probably a hacker. Safari, Firefox, and other alternative browsers go fast while IE is slow. I know about fast alternative browsers which I have. I just want to know why IE goes this way. smile.gif

I dunno. It's an endless question with no real logical answer other than Microsoft likes to be deliberately obtuse. You could also ask why Microsoft makes some simple tasks so difficult to execute that the average user has to download a third party app to make things easier. I don't think we really know why they produce products in that manner but it sure keeps companies like Mozilla in business.

Have a look at Troubleshooting Internet Explorer Problems, and try the fix in Crashes or hangs or Slow Startup.

Keeping the tif folder cleaned out on regular basis is the single best cure for that.
Whithin IE's settings you set the size limit for that folder. Once it becomes full, it has to start swapping out the old to make room for the new. I haven't suffered any slowdowns in years with IE for that reason alone. It's still my preffered browser though I use Opera on occasion. (which I notice no speed increase with btw). smile.gif

Running IE without add-ons speeds it up, but is hard to use without add-ons smile.gif I increased the cache and cleared it too smile.gif still the same though ;)

Some are no help at all. If you want fast downloads download it on IE firefox downloads are somehow slow.
FIRST: make a sys restore point.
Basically you go to regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings then you go to MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server and change the value to ten and decimal, also do that to MaxConnectionsPerServer and do the same. If you don't have then make 2 new DWORD values by right clicking> new> DWORD value> rename them as MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server and MaxConnectionsPerServer and do as above.
To make it faster and have less CPU usage go to tools and manage add-ons and disable some add-ons and watch the change smile.gif that's all i could find ;)
