Hey Everyone - I recently purchased a new IBM Thinkpad Running Windows Vista Business Edition. The specs of the computer are very good, in my opinion anyways. I'm new to Vista completely, and have really only used XP Professional up to this point. I know there are a lot of things I can change to increase the speed of windows, both on startup as well as overall performance - can anyone point me in the right direction, perhaps on what they would do if this was a clean install of Vista Business, and What might be installed default, but in fact really dont need? thanks in advance

One of the first things I did, was to go into "Services" and set them according to the information provided by BlackViper:

You could also use
http://www.tweakguides.com/TGTC.html the vista optimisation starts on page 112. but the rest is a very good read.

I've got a new Lenovo tablet and it runs just fine on 4 gB of RAM - but there's a lot of "junk" associated with the Thinkpad programs that you may want to review (to see if you need it).
