My antispyware programs are:
AVG antispyware-free
AVG anti rootkit-free
Superantispyware-free
Spybot S&D-free
(I threw out AdAware-free in January)

I update and scan with all of these at least once a week.
Plus I use Spyware Blaster to keep an eye on my browsers. I guess it's doing something. And I have NIS 2008(I know, I've heard it already, but '08 is very much easier on the resources than previous versions.)

When I scan my system, are these programs more effective if I run in safe mode?
Anything I should add to this suite?

Running them sequentially in Safe Mode accomplishes two things. It speeds up the scanning, and "unprotects" some files that normal running of Windows would secure by using them. As far as adware is concerned, your applications are certainly adequate. I would suggest, if you are not doing so, that you use an alternative browser to IE.

Thanks. I usually use Opera except for websites that don't display correctly, such as Windows messageboards.
