Hi all

Could someone please please help me. How do I download and save ?

I have linux dual boot with vista. In vista I have hardware and software related to my camera and printer - both canon. printer is canon mp510 multi function. I so need to have the access to this in Linux.

I found this link : http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU...0900706503.html for MP510 Scanner Driver Ver. 1.00 for Linux(Common package)

Clicking on the Download it obviously asks me to "open" or "Save" - then to choose an "application". This is where I get totally stuck. How do I know which app, or where do I find the info.

If I right click, "save link as" the file name come us as
: WWUFORedirectTarget.do
What is the ext .do ???

So basically I just need some overall help in how to download and save and how to access my drivers.

Please can someone help me - as you can see, I'm not that tech minded as far as Linux goes - so keep it simple. PLEASE!!

I currently have Hardy Heron. And Firefox 3.0b4 - (which I want to uninstall and then reinstall the earlier non beta version - how ??)

I hope someone can help.

RPM's don't work on Ubuntu and unfortunately Canon's Linux
support is less then helpful. Here is a direct link to the file you
are trying to download.
ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/bj/lin...1.00-1.i386.rpm
You need a program named "alien" to install on Ubuntu.

Same problem over at the Ubuntu forum:
