Hello. I'm using Norton AntiVirus 2007. Under Auto-Protect it says Error (see screenshot). Any ideas why? I have a Windows XP SP2 computer. I've already run automatic update (which is what the Norton fix tool on the left did) but I still have this error.

Have you tried pressing Fix Now?
bvdman89
Yes, when I press that, automatic update runs and the problem is still there. It only gets fixed temporarily after I restart the computer. A few minutes in, the error occurs.

Do you have another anti-virus installed on your computer besides Norton?

It's never a good idea to have more than one anti-virus installed as their real-time protections tend to fight against each other.
bvdman89
Nope. No others.

I would uninstall Norton (using the uninstall tool downloaded from their website) and then reinstall it.

I tried uninstalling (both with Add/Remove programs and with their uninstall tool) and then reinstalled it again. Problem persists.

I was able to capture a screenshot of the error. I tried what was suggested on norton's site. Same problem.

Did you try the fix given here?
bvdman89
Yes, the fix tool is automatic update and I haven't ever used system restore.

Maybe need to reset it. See :

Re-enable Auto Protect

Ok -- I'll try that the next time I receive the error.
