The more problems you see not related to malware, the more it becomes evident that more guides need to be written encouraging users to avoid certain programs. It seems every extra program loading at bootup is another accident waiting to happen.

here's an example of a program long since abandoned and known to cause many conflicts, it's been years since anyone in the digital video field even allowed on their computer

It couldn't find anything to turn off on my computer

I am afraid that many novice computer users, especially if they have just purchased their first, find all these wonderful/fun/happy applications and simply MUST try them out. And if it's on the Internet, it must be OK, right?

I did a little support work for a "fair use" state of the art program, it's crash logs would give a running processes list, I used to count how many, we never could get those with 40-50 and up to work, usually we would suggest running in safe mode.
