I have recently installed Bullguard v 8.0. This includes an anti virus programme and a firewall. I cannot turn off my windows XP pro firewall because the radio button greyed out at on. Also the bullguard keeps saying that my av software is out of date and will not update, although appropriate settings are configured. I would appreciate any help at all.

Troubleshooting: Inability to configure the Windows XP firewall
Windows Firewall options are grayed out
CAUTION: This step involves making changes in the registry. Always back up your registry before making any changes. If you are not familiar with working in the registry, then you should NOT attempt to make any changes on your own. Improper changes to the registry could adversely affect your computer and render it inoperable.

Note: When Windows Firewall is configured in an organizational network using Group Policy, depending on the GP settings, some of the local Firewall configuration options might be grayed out and not unavailable (even for local administrators).
