Hi, I have a Toshiba Sat. A205-S6810, and on the bottom there are several places to unscrew, and I unscrewed them, and found a strange place, and cant seem to figure out what goes in 1 spot.

1. is memory
1. is hard drive
1 . ??? (blank spot for something)

See product page: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/rdet.j...555&seg=HHO

Sorry cant attach image, but go here: http://911-computersolutions.com/temp/files/test.bmp

when I called toshiba I got 5 different answers
1. extra place for hard drive
2. wifi
3. extra place for battery
4. modem
5. bluetooth

Most likely it's a space for another hard drive - but you'll have to look inside and see if it's got the proper plugs for a hard drive to connect there. Since the hard drive installed is SATA, I'd expect the other one to be SATA also.

if there's a small slot empty it might be the optional bluetooth stack?

also sometime there's access for cleaning the cpu heatsink?

there is a small connector simular to sata, but my current hard drive wont connect to those connectors.. things to make to go hmm..

Dachew -- define small slot?

If it won't take your hard drive, then I'd suspect that it's a place to store your Tic-Tac's smile.gif (just kidding!)

I've opened several Toshiba's at work with similar cases and have only found them to be hard drive bays (YMMV).

USASMA -- I will re-try to install the hard drive again! and I will let you know in about 1 our when I get home

this is very interesting as I went to a lot of trouble with a 205 last week creating a data partition with vista for a dj friend of mine, he would love to be able to add another hard drive to his

WOW..

I just got home, and there is no connecters in that slot, uploading pics so you all can see what I am talking about:

I have looked at manual already, nothing there!

This isn't the exact same model, but it may be close enough. See the pictures near the end of the review and the section titled "Note about the extra HD bay":

And there is also this review of another Satellite model, with a similar comment ("Second HD bay with no connectors") near the end of the review:

Repair manual? Owner's manual? The repair manual was what I had in mind.
