I designed a site in Photoshop (CS3 on a Mac) and generated a table from the png file in Fireworks. I used that file as a template for my site as I have done countless times, but this time it won't load. It is making me nuts. I have even trashed the whole site and gone back to the png file and redone the whole thing. Here is the code:

Won't load where? On your local machine (for testing purposes), won't upload to the server? Are there error messages?

Sorry to be so slow to reply. I had to go to the States (where I still am) and my friend has a dial-up connection- I didn't know the still existed. Everyone in Japan is on optic fiber or at least ISDN. I haven't been to the States in years and I assumed that it would be just like Japan. Silly me.

The site will not load on my testing site or to the web. The page opens to the background color, but the table and graphics will not display.

So there are no error messages then?

If the background color is loading, then I have to assume that there is a problem with the HTML code.

This is over my head but the problem appears to be in the flash slide show that appears in the center block.

I see an error message that says you might need to upload an xml element but there is no reference specified.

Attempting to validate at W3C also indicates problems with flash. Go to http://validator.w3.org/

(Anyone who builds a site should test it on dial up. Prox 20% of the U.S. users still have it.)

I just got back from an overseas businees trip. I think that I was hoping that the problem would fix itself whilst I was gone, but no luck!! Thanks for both of these comments. I can't find anywhere in the HTML that seems fishy. And only one page has a slideshow, but none of the pages will load... I am soo frustrated.

If that's the case, then it is time to check out the server logs, or open the website in Firefox and use the web developer's toolbar to see if any errors show up. My next guess would be a javascript error, since the HTML validator does not check javascript. If you have a common menu bar on every page that uses javascript, and the script was corrupt, that would cause a problem too.
