Full Version: Problem With Sd Card

I got a new computer with Vista Premium Home Edition 32 bit, and I have 2 problems.

First, the only way it will read an SD card is if the computer is booted up with the card in the slot.

The second is that it wont let me rename or delete pictures off of the card.

Neither of these are a problem when I plug the card into my laptop.

Please check the following areas in your new Vista computer:
1) Device Manager - look for red x's and yellow !'s
2) Reliability Monitor - look for issues with Windows and applications (red x's)
3) Event Viewer - System and Application logs - look for errors when you try reading the card
4) Performance Monitor report

Items 1 through 3 can be viewed by going to Start and typing in "compmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and pressing Enter

To get item 4, go to Start and type in "perfmon /report" (without the quotes) and press Enter.

Let us know what you find out and we can move on from there.
Also, please include the exact make and model of your system in your next post.
