I am running Windows Vista. I also have downloaded Firefox and Internet Explore and I also have AOL(which I use for all my emails and bill paying.)on this laptop.
I have had so much problem with AOL that I had decided to let go of AOL but I did not want to loose my favorites. So I googled for a way to transfer them to Firefox and I found this info blog about a site call "LinkAGOGO.net". So I went there and figured out how to do it( I think) I did manage to get my favorites transfered to my account (that I opened on this site)but now everytime I open Firefox and click on bookmark-AOL opens up right behind it.No matter how many times I close it - it comes right back.
I guess I have set something connected to AOL for this to happen but what?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
usasma
Take all the favorites from the profile folder and save them somewhere else. http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
Then delete the profile folder and the folder in Program files.
Then reinstall Firefox and make sure it works, then use the Manage Bookmarks applet to import your bookmarks from the place where you saved them.

Check to see what your Internet Explorer does also (to check to see if you're still stuck connecting to AOL).

I found the profile folder and deleted it thanks. Everything I transfered to the linkagogo would not open,so I canceled that account and removed the profile folder from foxfire. so far so good there, but since I couldnt open my favorites I decided to reinstall AOL thinking that would give me back my "favorites"but dealing with vista I think things come out a little different. I have 9.0 version of aol to reinstall aol, but it would not install for some reason. It did however leave a folder on my desktop and when I open it -it reads"Explorer.EXE(at the top of the window)then it reads-windows cannot access the specified device path,or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. Then you have the opinion to click "ok"
It will not let me delete the folder either. How do I get rid of the folder on my desktop and why will not install AOL?
Have any ideas for this one?
Thanks
