Hi, I'm running windows vista, first of all. What's happening is, under the task bar on the bottom left of the screen, i've got the little icon of a USB thing and a green check mark, if i goto click it, it opens up the safely remove hardware box. In it, however, is my DVD drive! This has been there for a really long time, and i dont know how to get it so my computer knows I'm not trying to "safely" remove my freakin' disk drive!

Sounds like you got some drive letters assigned wrong. Do you have a card reader or USB devices?

what is a card reader? And what exactly do you mean by USB devices, like something i need a USB port for?

When you open My Computer and look at the section: Devices with Removable Storage, what is listed and what are the assigned Letters? When you go to Device Manager Expand all of the +'s and look for yellow exclamation points. That indicates problem devices. The link will say for XP. It's the same for Vista

There are no yellow exclamation points, it seems to be fine..

I've got my hardrive C
I've got my DVD RW drive "D"
I've got my DVD Drive "E" only thing is i've only got one DVD drive on my case..

You shouldn't make any changes to your system, while your HJT log is posted, as that could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.
