I am running windows XP on a Dell Inspiron 1200. Service pack 2.

I have flushed dns, virus scan. Ran Ccleaner. Defragged. Scndsk and chkdsk in safe mode. cleaned out temp files. deleted uneeded programs. cleaned up startup.

Pretty much I've done a lot to clean up the computer, but I continuously get the same pop-up for reasons unknown to me. Can anyone help me out?

I also have the problem of my computer taking forever to load personal settings as well as shut down...

thank you

Have you changed any interconnexion software? These messages may mean your connexion speed is very slow and that it is timing out after no response.

I have not made any changes to the connection, however I do geta somewhat low signal. Even so, I have been using the same computer in the same room for over 2 years now and it has never given me that message before...could it be anything else?

Thank you =]

I see you have a HJT log posted in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum.

You shouldn't make any changes to your system, while your HJT log is posted, as that could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.
At this point, the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

I'm closing this topic until you are cleared by the HJT Team.
If, after your log has been cleaned, you still need help, please PM a Moderator and we will re-open this topic.
