Hi, I recently dual-booted xp and vista (xp first) to try vista out. I finally decided i didn't need xp anymore and deleted the xp partition using GParted, and expanded the vista partition to fill the space. When I booted up, it would say "PRESS A KEY TO RESTART" (every time). I tried the recovery disk and when I clicked repair at the main screen, My operating system wasn't listed. I can access all the files from ubuntu, but nothing lets me boot into vista (kernel files must be missing). Please help me find a solution,
-Matt

the xp partition would have been your original boot one, when you installed vista to another partition it just wrote a new boot.ini file on the xp partition which then would boot vista

You wiped all that out with gparted, you might run vista as a repair disk
