If this is not allowed, i'm more than happy for a moderator to remove.

nProtect Gameguard, a popular program that prevents hacking in many MMORPGs.
Sadly, it is classed as a rootkit and it is only able to be removed manually. This program is also known to hog memory.
Removing it manually can be very tricky, as you have to play around with the system registry.

Well, i have found an app that works, tested myself to make sure of it smile.gif (i couldn't uninstall gameguard after downloading silkroad *shivers*)
Well, uploaded onto my own webspace so hopefully all you guys can have it.
Works on XP/Vista/2000.

sad thing is that gameguard doesn't actually prevent any hacking; I've actually seen more hacks in games "protected" by it than on games without it. seems all it really does is pretend to be a rootkit and waste resources. oh, and depending on the version, attack mIRC for no real reason.

I'd love to see something to let me play the games cursed with it *without* it being able to dig it's claws into my system, that I wouldn't have to pay for.
well, at least if I grab this thing, when I ditch the games that use it I'll be able to get rid of IT too.

is this to say that any game i have installed at any point, weather i have uninstalled it or not...that the gamegaurd thing is still somewhere on my system? does it run at any other point but when using one of those games?
i haven't noticed anything like it running that i can see.
