I am in the process of deleting all kinds of Adware and a few trojans from my computer. I've gotten so far as to run AVG anti-spyware in Safe Mode and deleted/quarantined 62 items.
Now I am trying to run the F-Secure online virus/spyware scan using Internet Explorer. I click on the online virus scan link which takes me to the License agreement.
When I click on Start Scan, a window pops up that has a Language drop down box in the top left and the only other thing I can see is a button in the bottom right that looks like it should be a "start scan" or something but there are no words on it, and it does nothing when I click on it. The rest of the page is blank.
I do not get an Active-X message.
Thank you for the help!

Try to use safe mode with Networking option.
Safe Mode Using the F8 Method for XP
Restart your computer.
When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
Select the option for Safe Mode With Networking using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.
Run the scan from there

Watch the Address bar in IE. You may receive alerts that "
This site might require the following ActiveX control...Click here to install...". Click on that alert and then Click Install ActiveX component.
Alternatives:
ESET Nod32 Online ScannerBitDefender Online Scanner.
Panda ActiveScan (
does not remove adware/spyware but will autoclean for viruses/worms and uses low-level scanning to combat rootkits...uses non-encrypted virus definitions so disable your resident anti-virus program before scanning or it may detect ActiveScan as a virus.)
