Hi folks,

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 that used to purr along very nicely, but now even when I'm doing nothing, cpu hovers above 50%. If I try to do anything (play music, view video) it hammers to 100% and practically locks up. And the CPU is taken up by the application -- like firefox or ie, sometimes svchost or SYSTEM (not idle process, of course!).

This is very new, which makes me think I've been hijacked somehow, but can't find anything obvious.

For example, right now I just spawned a 2nd browser (IE) and cpu shot up to 100%, most of which was IE (my default homepage is google, which is pretty lightweight). After about 20 seconds, it calms down to around 50%, but go to the youtube front page (not running a video, just viewing youtube.com) and CPU is pegged, with iexplore alone hovering around 75%.

I have run AVG, Ad-Aware and SpyBot, and they only find tracking cookies, which are all removed. Last thing installed was iTunes, and I have tried removing all but critical processes, and the thing still crawls. Log posted below, any help would be wonderful!

You posted your log in a forum not intended for HijackThis logs analysis and probably missed the directions we provide to those who require assistance. We can only allow topics with such logs in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum.
