My sister downloaded a program and want to remove it from my desktop. I went to control panel-->uninstall programs, but the thing is, I did not see the program there or any programs that I downloaded (i.e AIM). And I can't uninstall the programs either, it won't let me. All I can do is click on the program and that's it. It seemed like all the programs that I downloaded can't be seen on the uninstall/ change program--only its icons on my desktop are seen. I also tried to file where to file is located. By clicking on the icon-->open file location, but there's no where I can uninstall the program. There are a lot of files such as TFlog.dll (mostly .dll files). Can someone show me how to uninstall this program (TreatFire) and explain to me why the programs I downloaded was not on the uninstall/change program? Thank you so much!

Has someone installed any program from PCTools? The most common finding for this is a program called ThreatFire by PCTools.

It should be listed as "Threatfire" in your Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program.

The thing is, whenever I want to uninstall a program I would just go to Control Panel--->Programs--->Uninstall a program, but now, for some reason, I don't see the programs that I downloaded (i.e. AIM, ThreatFire). And in the Uninstall a program, like if I click on Roxio I cannot uninstall or change or do anything to it. It is just there. I can't even right click on the file. Do you know why that is? Is this a Standard User Account or an Administrator account?

It is not an Administrator account, it is my own. I have the home windows vista version.

I wonder if you might have a virus infection?
