Hey all, hope this isn't a repeat of something already here, couldn't find anything by searching.
Here's what my network looks like.
Cable -> Modem ->wireless router @ 192.168.1.1 -> 1 computer @ 192.168.1.101
-----------------------------------------------------------------> 1 computer @ 192.168.1.102
-----------------------------------------------------------------> BEFSR41v4 wired router (acting as a switch, I have ethernet from port 4 of the wireless to port 1 of this)@ 192.168.1.2 -> Anthing else
Basically, I'm just using the wired router as a switch in the basement for things to come. As of now, everything works fine, I just have to use static IPs for anything on the wired router. . .Is there any way I could use DHCP with the wired without breaking everything? I assumed the computers running on that router would need to be of 192.168.1.2XX, not 192.168.1.1XX. Problem is, the linksys wired router only has one option for DHCP, you can set the server starting adress to anything 192.168.1.XXX. Can't seem to find any way to change that. Any ideas? I would really like DHCP on the wired router as a primary use would be to just plug things in on the fly (game consoles or laptops).
