Randomly IE7 crashes. It'll happen while checking the weather, it'll happen on myspace, it even happened here once. It got so bad that I just up and reinstalled the OS. I think I might wipe the HDD if I can't find a fix. It is happening on Windows Media Player now aswell. I'll open the program, it will start to play, then it crashes. I don't think any malware or virus scan logs are needed, so this seems like a Windows Vista thread topic. svchost crashes aswell. It's a total bleep.

Are there any errors in the System log in Event Viewer?
Does the Reliability Monitor show any unidentified issues?(go to Start and type in "reliability" (without the quotes) and press Enter - then click on Reliability Monitor in the left hand pane and view the results in the right hand pane)

From a couple of Google searches, this problem is most often seen with incompatible software (?or drivers?) - have you installed anything recently that may have tripped this? Some of the posts that I've read also refer to WBM or DEP issues.

As these errors occur in different applications (iexplore.exe; wmplayer.exe, and svchost.exe), they will be difficult to troubleshoot. Can you search your hard drive for files ending in .dmp or .mdmp to see if we can further isolate the problem? If you find them, you can use this link to perform an analysis of the file ( http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35246 )
The link is written for BSOD crashes - but the procedure will work for any .dmp/.mdmp file. Post the results back here for us to have a look at.

Hi there, I've probably got these same prob and it is driving me nuts. In my case I've got a new PC and prob started after I updated a number of drivers. Thing is I have updated everything, BIOS, GPU, printers etc so there is no telling which caused it.

The same sites will keep giving the problem.

SUCESS (in my case) cause was Nvidia Network Access Management. Uninstalled it and all works well. What a relief

Yeah it seems that most stackhash_XXXX problems are related to Nvidia Network Access Management program, I uninstalled it also and it solved my problem. Ianstaf what motherboard are you using?
